N’Jobu is charged by T’Chaka with helping Ulysses Klaue, a black market armaments dealer, steal vibranium from Wakanda. When N’Jobu’s colleague identifies himself as Zuri, another Wakandan spy, he confirms T’Chaka’s suspicions.
In 1992, Wesley Snipes had intended to direct a Black Panther movie, but the idea was never realised. One of the ten projects based on Marvel characters that Marvel Studios intended for Paramount Pictures to distribute was a Black Panther movie, which was listed in September 2005.

W’Kabi, T’Challa’s buddy and Okoye’s girlfriend, implores him to bring Klaue back alive after he and his collaborator Erik Stevens steal a Wakandan item from a London museum.
Traveling to Busan, South Korea, where Klaue intends to sell the relic to CIA agent Everett K. Ross, T’Challa, Okoye, and Nakia arrive. Klaue tries to flee but is stopped by T’Challa, who reluctantly hands him over to Ross’s care after a firefight breaks out.
Ross is informed by Klaue that Wakanda’s outward appearance is a cover concealing a highly developed civilisation.
Ross is critically hurt while defending Nakia as Erik assaults and removes Klaue. Ross is brought to Wakanda by T’Challa so that they can use their technology to save him rather than go after Klaue.
